Mr. Schilleci was born in New Orleans and grew up in Kenner, Louisiana. He attended Brother Martin High School and after graduating in 1991 he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he was a member of the Golden Band from Tigerland. Mr. Schilleci graduated from LSU in 1996 and earned two degrees including a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Criminology.
After obtaining these two degrees Mr. Schilleci began attendance at the at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and graduated in 1999 with his Juris Doctorate degree. While attending LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center Mr. Schilleci worked as a law clerk in the legal department for Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation. This is where he began his immersion in the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Law as LWCC is one of the biggest workers’ compensation insurance companies in the State of Louisiana.
After graduating from law school Mr. Schilleci returned to the New Orleans area and began working for a large and respected law firm in the New Orleans area that primarily represented employers and insurance companies in workers’ compensation cases. From this work, a unique perspective was obtained as to the tactics and strategies used to defend workers’ compensation claims and he puts this knowledge to good use today to counter those strategies in his representation of injured workers.
In 2007 Mr. Schilleci started his own law firm with the Workers’ Compensation Injury Law Center, LLC where the vast majority of his clients are individuals who are injured at work. Since the inception of the Workers’ Compensation Injury Law Center, LLC, approximately 97% of his practice is representing injured workers in their workers’ compensation claims against employers and insurance companies.
Mr. Schilleci is also a member of the Workers Injury Law and Advocacy Group which is a national organization dedicated to representing and furthering the rights of employees injured at work. Further, Mr. Schilleci is a member of Louisiana Workers Advocates. LWA is an organization of attorneys in Louisiana representing injured workers not only in the courtroom but also with attempts to advance legislation in support of injured workers as well as to stop the legislative attacks of business and insurance attempting to erode the rights of the workers of Louisiana. Mr. Schilleci has also been a a speaker at various seminars discussing workers’ compensation issues and has also been a guest lecturer in the Workers Compensation class at Loyola School of Law.
Mr. Schilleci is also a Louisiana high school football official. He is a member of the Greater New Orleans Football Officials Association and officiates numerous LHSAA high school football games in the Greater New Orleans area and the Northshore throughout football season including playoff games.
Mr. Schilleci resides in Metairie, LA with his wife Lisa, stepdaughter Ashley, and their two four- legged sons, Oreo and Taz.
